Policy Statement:

T&D Underground Power Services appreciate that working safely is vital to the ultimate success of our organisation. There can be no compromise with safety and is the responsibility of each and every one of us. For all of our employees, safety will always take precedence over job expediency.

T&D Underground Power Services and our Managers and Supervisors have a total commitment to, and will continue to be responsible and accountable for, the health, safety, rehabilitation and welfare of our employees, and others at our workplaces. They may delegate OH&S duties and activities but not their responsibilities. All persons directing the work of others at our workplaces are required to work with employees to achieve and maintain a high level of safety performance.

T&D Underground Power Services is also committed to protecting our employees by demonstrating a 'Duty of Care' through effective OH&S Safety Systems and Risk Management strategies and the application of Industry-based Standard OH&S Procedures.

Objectives:

Management, employees, other persons and organisations are required to work jointly in achieving the following objectives:

  • to create and maintain a safe, healthy and productive workplace, for all persons at our places of work, and develop and maintain appropriate procedures to manage the risks to their health, safety & welfare which arise out of our work activities;

  • to create and maintain continuous improvement strategies, systematically managing to ensure proactive hazard controls and legitimate implementation of our Policies and Procedures to the Industry-based OH&S Standard for Safety Systems and Risk Management; and

  • to ensure compliance with Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare Legislation and the associated Regulations, Codes of Practice and Standards as a minimum level within all its activities.

T&D Underground Power Services is dedicated to providing high quality installations and services as agreed, at a quality that meet or exceed the needs, requirements and expectations of our customers whilst providing efficient and timely solutions within programme budget.

T&D Underground Power Services recognises the importance of quality assurance systems and controls and commits to:

  • Operating the business to comply with legal requirements and defined quality assurance systems and controls.

  • Developing quality awareness and skills throughout the organisation including training for employees to enhance understanding of the quality policy, supporting procedures and the effective application.

  • Promoting the culture of continual quality improvements to execute all work processes effectively and efficiency the first time.

  • Focusing on best work practices and rigorously controlling the project management, sourcing, supply, installation, maintenance and completion to programme of all projects.

  • Promoting the quality management systems and ensuring implementation is achieved by internal auditing, management review, corrective and preventive action.

Everyone is responsible for the quality within T&D Underground Power Services and for maintaining high standards.

T&D Underground Power Services recognises the importance of maintaining and enhancing the quality of the environment for the benefit of our customers, employees and the community. Our commitment is to deliver our projects in an environmentally responsible manner.

To ensure environmentally responsible behaviour is an integral part of our operations, we specifically undertake to:

  • establish an Environmental Management System in order to help systematically reduce our impacts on the environment;

  • prevent pollution of the environment occurring from our activities and operations;

  • conduct operations in compliance with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practice and contractual conditions;

  • conduct business with suppliers who also have a commitment to responsible environmental management;

  • communicate this policy to our employees and the wider community;

  • educate our employees and contractors on their environmental responsibilities and ensure this is integrated into their work practices, training and decision making; and

  • continuously improve the environmental performance of our company by regular reviews and setting realistic environmental objectives and targets.
